Conversations with a Twist

Children's Hospital Association hosts their signature fundraising event each year to support vital programs and services at Children's Minnesota. For the 2024 iteration, Conversations with a Twist, CHA brought together community members, healthcare professionals, and supporters to learn about their mission and engage with thought leaders on timely topics in pediatric care.

I was tasked with developing a refreshed brand identity that could scale across the entire event experience, from invitations and signage to printed materials and giveaways. The result was a playful yet polished visual system that balanced CHA's child-focused mission with the professionalism of the healthcare space.

 
  • The event branding needed to reflect CHA's mission, blending a playful, childlike spirit with a professional tone. In previous years, the challenge was that the branding felt disconnected from CHA, sacrificing brand recognition of the event to be distinct enough to stand alone as an event identity.

  • I developed a brand concept that embraced CHA's fun and approachable personality while elevating the overall tone for an event setting. The logo and design elements combined hand-drawn lines and symbols to bring energy and intention to the visuals:

    • Bubble: Represents thoughts and conversation.

    • Ellipse: Suggests ongoing dialogue and continuous storytelling.

    • Lemon: A playful nod to the "twist" theme inspired by the garnish in a drink.

    This layered, symbolic approach created a polished yet whimsical brand identity that stood out while staying true to the CHA brand and voice.
